 On witches and magic.

Since I was a kid, I have been taught that witches are bad; they have ugly noses, they make stinky potions, transform in black cats and ride broomsticks. If they feel like it, they might have some children fingers as snacks. They appear in your worst nightmares and they always play the role of the evil character in Disney movies. No matter what, witches have always belonged to the world of darkness, to the imaginary or to ancient mythology.

My first encounter with a witch was in bar. From there on I immersed myself in their world, went to rituals and  sang to the new moon.

I researched and tried to photograph all those stereotypes that did fall under the witchcraft's umbrella as a starting point for what I'd like to be a long term project.

This is for those who believe in magic; for the ones that can go beyond the appearance and feel the energy; for those who in front of someone saying “I’m a witch” don’t start laughing but smile and listen.

For those who seek and see magic in simple things.
